Fighting For Your Gun
The majority of fatal shootings by criminals in South Africa occur at a range of one meter or less and often gun owners are killed with or for their own firearms. The experience of firearms combat at close range forces the gun owner to realize that marksmanship alone is not sufficient to survive violent encounters at close range. A broad range of skills are necessary to stay alive by getting your gun into the fight to stop attackers. Empty hand and complementary weapons skills, physical attributes, and weapon access and retention under stress against multiple opponents are vital just to survive, though our objective is not only to survive, but to dominate and dictate the outcome of these confrontations. For Amoks, it was a natural progression to integrate the blade and hand gun at close quarters.
1. Functionalizing weapon handling for extreme close quarters
This course will frame the context of how, when and where the “AMOK! blade/gun” course is applicable and how it differs and integrates with functional “traditional” gun combat skills. You will learn how safety and carry options can to be adjusted and changed when working under pressure preparing for close quarters confrontations. You will functionalize gun safety and handling at close quarters, while moving, pushing, falling, with a blade in the other hand. You will learn to functionalize disruptive firing making use of various cant firing positions designed to eliminate muzzle sweeping when you check hand needs to be forward of your muzzle.
2. Firearm access and retention
Access is success and losing your weapon means losing your life. This course focuses on getting your handgun into the fight while under attack at contact range. You will also deal with in and out of holster weapon retention. Dealing with multiple attackers is a vital skill set under these conditions. This course is a must for anybody that carries a side arm.
3. Firearm disarms when it goes right/when it goes wrong
Achieving fire arm disarms requires the correct circumstances backed by total commitment and sound skills. You will work through the frame work of entries for securing and disarming hand guns. You will progress from empty hand disarms to situations where you may already have a weapon such as a blade or tactical baton in hand. Disarming skills are put to the test in real time scenarios.
4. Extreme close quarter blade and firearm fighting (integrate at various stages on the course).
In this course you will integrate you blade and firearm skills to work as a formidable cohesive attacking and counter attacking force at contact range. This is where all it all comes together dealing with aggressive armed and multiple opponent confrontations in real time.
